Children's Summer Art Workshops
Join us for an exciting summer of art and dance (see dance classes below)! Art classes will be taught by Lake Chelan art teacher and artist Phil Thomas. ART AROUND THE WORLD
ages 6-12
Explore art from different cultures. Draw, paint and experiment with mixed media.

IMPRESSIONISM AT THE LAKE, ages 7-adult
Enjoy beautiful Lake Chelan while creating oil pastel landscapes. We will meet at local parks. Parents are welcome to join us for this fun, relaxing workshop.

MASKMAKING, ages 6-12
Use a variety of media to make colorful, crazy masks that will heat up your summer.

ATHLETES IN ART, ages 7-12
Learn perspective and figure drawing technique as you draw and paint your favorite sports and athletes.

PAINTING - BIG ART WORLD, ages 7-adult
Explore the magic of color as we learn different painting techniques.

Learn puppeting techniques and use a variety of media to create hand and stick puppets.

Would you really like to be a better artist? This classical drawing workshop will stretch your skills.

BIG ART FOR LITTLE PEOPLE, ages 3-6
This class is designed to stimulate the creativity of our youngest artists.
Session I - TWTh, June 26-28, 10 a.m.
Session II - TWTh, July 24-26, 11 a.m.

ONE-DAY WONDERS, ages 4-adult
In these short one-day workshops, students can create a piece of art ready to take home by the end of class. Perfect for the busy family. Each class begins at noon and is an hour long. One-day wonders will be held on July 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 11 and 12.

ADULT OIL PAINTING CLASS, ages 13-adult
Learn old-master painting techniques including glazing and grisaille. Each class lasts 90 minutes.
$45, Wednesdays, June 20, 27 & July 11, 7 p.m.

Art Show
We will hold a student art show July 27 to feature work from each of our young artists. Our creative movement students will also have the opportunity to perform an impromptu free dance at the event.

Creative movement classes will be taught by Celeste Thomas. She teaches creative movement at the Lake Chelan Center for Dance and has studied ballet and modern dance for several years.

PRINCESS DANCE CAMP
ages 3-5
Young dancers will explore creative movement with a royal flair, make crafts and create a princess dance with a variety of props to perform for parents. Snack and craft provided. 10:00 – 11:30

Session 2 - Tues, June 5 and Thurs, June 7

ADVENTURE IN MOVEMENT
ages 3-5
Blast off to outer space and explore the jungle. We will play creative movement games, make masks and musical instruments, and create a dance to perform for parents. Snack and craft provided. 10:00 – 11:30

Session 2 – Tues, June 12 and Thurs, June 14

FAIRYTALE BALLET CAMP
ages 3-5
This camp features fairytale ballets Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. We’ll learn about the traditional ballets and explore creative music as we create a dance to perform for parents. Snack and craft provided. 10:00-11:30

INFORMATION & REGISTRATION
Creative Movement classes are $30 a session. Art classes are $35, except for One-Day Wonders, $12. Art classes are 50 minutes long unless otherwised noted. Prices include materials. Register for classes at 687-3102 or 679-2308 or online at villagewriter.com.
